The Splendor of Latin American Music

Generally, Latin America is found in the Southern United States area and the Caribbean. Latin America was home to numerous communities like the Africans, European , mestizo and the Amerindians. These different people and cultures were brought together by the ancient slave trade.

Due to close unavoidable interactions by the people, exchange of cultures, ways of life and music were inevitable. Historically, the Africans of that time, used to play drum rhythms when praying or soothing their gods. Latin music involved foot taps for the rhythm and hand and leg shakers for percussion while the Spanish guitar offered the accompaniment.

Overly the Latin American Music was born from the fusion of African drums (for drums) with the Spanish guitar for the accompaniment. Latin American music, then evolved, mainly in Cuba .

Latin American Music Genres

There are several genres to the Latin American Music, with different styles and rhythms to them. These genres have been from the fusions from others styles which greatly related to it and from the same area.

However, albeit the fusions, even in modern Latin American Music, the instruments primarily used are Spanish guitars for accompaniment and drums for rhythms.

If one would do online surveys of  favorite Latin American music the famous genres related to Latin American Music would be the Merengue, Salsa, Calypso, Tango, Rhumba and Bolero.

Latin American music has greatly been accepted all over the world leading it to easily do well, not only in the Latin charts but also in other general charts. In the twenty first century many modern musicians, all over the world, have opted to the fusions of the Latin American music to enable their songs do well in their market. This has been both consciously and subconsciously, simply due to splendor of the rhythms and accompaniments in this kind of music

Over time famous artists have contributed to making the Latin charts do exemplary well. Some of the ancient famous Latin Americans include Diego Rivera, Miquel Barcelo, the famous Issac Albeinz, and Alonso Mudara who have been famously known as guitar gurus

Modern famous artist who have made it to the tops of the Latin charts include Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Julio Iglesias and Wyclef Jean among many others who would make the list endless.
